stigma around girl groups that doesn’t need to exist

1. calling them sexist terms for wearing clothes like miniskirts or crop tops which they didn’t pick out themselves to begin with, or dancing in ways that you don’t approve of for a sexy concept, and i am especially looking at you boy group stans who criticize girl groups for being sluts while you fawn over your faves revealing their abs and hipthrusting into oblivion.
   
2. negating girl group’s dancing skills because you don’t think their choreographies are as hard as bts’ or exo’s or anybody else’s. they train years and years to learn to dance, and they do often have difficult, precise choreographies. but when they’ve all got it down perfectly, they can make almost anything look easy.
3. fatshaming female idols who aren’t even fat.
4. actually, fatshaming idols as a whole. it’s just really shallow and juvenile.
5. knocking their singing abilities. this one i don’t even understand how people do it. there are some mindblowingly talented female vocalists in kpop. aoa’s choa, miss a’s min, twice’s jihyo, etc. they’ve got range for days, see for yourself.
6. calling them your guilty pleasure. there’s no shame in liking girl groups. they’re talented, they’re fun, they make some great music. they might be different from whatever else you like (or not, i don’t know your taste), but you probably don’t have to be ashamed of any music you like. it’s just music. that’s all it is.
7. spreading gossip about their relationships with each other. i get it, it’s really cute when they all have this close, sisterly relationship with one another, and you like that. who doesn’t? but if they don’t seem to be that close with each other, or like they just see each other as coworkers, that’s fine too. they don’t have to. we don’t have to act like they hate working with each other.
8. threatening or shaming women who are rumored to be dating your faves. you can’t determine anybody’s love life but your own. just let them date if they’d like to. odds are you’re not ending up with your favorite boy group member for the rest of your life anyway. it’d be real hard to get that close to him even if you did meet him. please don’t contribute to the hate they already get both in their own countries and internationally.
